This is the home page of the Nassau County Firefighters’ Burn Center Foundation.
The Burn Center Foundation raises money for the NuHealth’s Nassau County Firefighters Burn Center at Nassau University Medical Center.
The Nassau County Fire Fighters Burn Center Foundation raises money for the Burn Center at the Nassau University Medical Center through golf outings, benefit concerts, and various fundraisers hosted by the 71 Fire Departments in the County.
Our goal is to make quality burn care available to all who are seriously burned, regardless of age, race, creed or economic status. This site is designed to inform you of what we do including: upcoming events, fund-raisers, and burn care assistance.
“The county does a good job of supporting it, but they do not have the funds to send the doctors and nurses to different school and seminars, and there is certain equipment that is not state-of-the-art,” said Paul Napoli, co-chairman, Nassau County Firefighters Burn Center Foundation. “We are trying to make a good burn center a great burn center, in terms of the care and treatment it offers.”
Firefighters and members of the Burn Unit Teams have a special empathy for burn victims. No other group witnesses more of the devastation that fire wreaks on the human body.
